Ski Miquel is more than just an inclusive ski holiday company, we're a family-run business with over 40 years' experience in the travel industry, and we believe we're good at what we do!
The company was formed in 1980 after a trip to Andorra, when our founder Richard and a colleague decided to start their own travel business. They had stayed in a sub-standard chalet-hotel, where the bedding was dirty and the food was second-rate. Richard knew right then that he could provide a far better service, and four decades on, that's exactly what we've continued to do.
Richard has now handed the business down to his son Ralph, so that family-run feel continues to this day and is at the heart of what we do.
Today we are a state-of-the-art cottage industry and we're proud of it. We only have a small UK team, so when you call or email us you will know exactly who you're talking to. We don't like to hide behind emails or answerphone messages, we're up-front and personal.
We want to talk directly to our guests so we can provide the best service for them again and again. Our UK team regularly visit our resorts, so you may even bump into us on the mountain! Both Richard and Ralph love nothing better than taking a turn at leading the ski hosting groups every now and then during the season.
It's this close-knit work ethic that has turned Ski Miquel into the much-loved travel company that it is today. We believe that once you've experienced the great food, the ski hosting and the sociable atmosphere of our chalet-hotels, you won't want to book with anyone else. After setting up the company in 1980, Richard has now handed the business over to his son Ralph to carry on the Ski Miquel legacy, but that doesn't mean he's stepped away - Richard still helps out wherever he can and enjoys nothing better than coming out to the resorts to socialise and ski with our guests.
Having grown up with Ski Miquel, Ralph started answering the phones in the office at 13! Since then he set up a successful software company and has now come home to Ski Miquel. Along with his friend Nick, they took up the mantle in 2017 and relocated the business to the South, and are eagerly looking towards the future.
Nick had been on many Ski Miquel holidays himself before joining the company in 2017 to help Ralph with the running of the business. He loves nothing more than being out on the mountain with family and friends, and you can be sure he won't miss the first lift to carve some fresh tracks in the powder!
The multi-talented Vicki worked for many ski seasons as a chef before re-training as an accountant, and she has now taken on the role of Sales Manager at Ski Miquel. When Vicki is not on the phone to our guests or helping to develop new recipes for our chefs to cook, she loves riding her mountain bike on the South Downs.
Mimi joined our accounts team in 2022 and supports us remotely from her base in the Midlands, looking after all financial aspects of running the business. Mimi has a keen love of the mountains and enjoys taking her family skiing/snowboarding, and in her spare time she also likes getting out on her mountain bike.
Danielle joined us in 2025 and has over 10 years of experience living and working in the mountains. She leads the recruitment of our resort teams, ensuring we have the right people to deliver the highest level of service possible. Outside work, Danielle loves to cook and keeps active with running, yoga, and of course skiing!
