The contender
Entering into the ring weighing in at £923 and £913 respectively we Chalet-Hotel Elise and Chalet-Hotel Lucille both offering our inclusive holiday package which includes:

- Evening meal on 6 nights with 4 courses including wine

The opposition
We are up pitted against a variety of options (of both higher and lower standards) to travel to Montgenèvre depending on your budget:
- Self-drive, cook for yourself and stay in an Airbnb studio.
- Fly and rent a car with slightly better accommodation.
- Fly and get a shared transfer with slightly better accommodation.
- Fly, shared transfer and hotel accommodation, eating out more.
In Montgenèvre there are a range of options to compare with, but very few chalet-hotels so most of our comparisons are with Airbnbs or hotels. Montgenèvre is one of the best kept secrets in France, so much so you mostly see Italians in resort as it is right on the border with Italy. With the village at 1,800 it has the altitude to ensure snow all season and our offer of £697 for pre-Xmas cannot be missed.
So if you want the authentic chalet-hotel experience with one of the best bars in town (also the cheapest) and a very short walk to the slopes to enjoy our ski hosting and bistro-style cooking with complimentary wine, then we are already ahead! The food
For the food, we assumed the following:
- Pizza/pasta and dessert for 4 nights
- Starter, main and dessert for 2 nights
- Bottle of wine to share
- Cake and a hot drink for 5 days
We used the above as our Ski Miquel package holidays include a 4-course meal for 6 nights with starter, main, dessert, cheese course, and as much wine as you want during the meal.

A saving of £53, which is a reasonable saving, but are you prepared to cook all your own meals and forego the ski hosting for just £53?!

£115 more expensive - Another win for Ski Miquel, especially when you consider the difference in quality of the meals and the ski hosting.
Self-build with hotel, flights & transfers - £1,399

£486 more expensive - Another win for Ski Miquel here, given the saving we provide, and still no ski hosting too!

A saving of £457 - This is clearly a significant saving, but is it really a holiday with all that cooking and driving? Why not try one of our holidays and let our professional chefs cook for you in the evening after gliding around with our ski hosts during the day!

£416 more expensive - There are no other companies offering chalet-hotels in Montgenèvre, so we looked at a hotel package and added in the food, plus no other provider offers ski hosting, and considering the saving we are taking this as a win!
